Curvy chair

A development of the Curvy Stool, the Curvy Chair was created for the 100 Chairs exhibition for Friends & Associates (Melbourne Design Week 2026), evolving the concept into a more practical seating form. The addition of a bent stainless steel backrest continues the fundamental idea of its predecessor without diminishing the original sculptural piece. Shifting the materiality was a deliberate choice, highlighting the backrest as an additional concept while exploring a new manufacturing process, one that offers a viable path for reinterpreting the original timber form.
